The Week Behind

There have been so many things that have been on my mind in the past week, most of which had to do with the sports world. Between Jemele, Kevin Durant, and the NFL, my thoughts have been consumed with the many moving parts of the sports world.
THE GOOD:
The NFL is more interesting to me every year, not because of the actual games, but because of the random stories that come out of locker rooms and post-game press conferences. This week, the NFL gave us as many stories as we could handle. My favorite might have been the Brandon Marshall (Broncos LB) trolling Twitter. On Sunday, the Detroit Lions played the New York Giants, who have a new outside “threat,” in Brandon Marshall. Marshall, a veteran receiver, was brought in to take some pressure off OBJ, by opening up the passing game, which he has not done to this point. I do not put that solely on him though, as Eli Manning has not exactly given him every opportunity to do that. Marshall, does have a few drops in this early season though, so he doesn’t get a pass either. That’s not what I’m here to discuss though, I’m here to comment on the hilarity that came from those drop passes. People have often mistaken the two Marshalls, but Sunday night Brandon Marshall (Broncos) gave the Twitter trolls the attention they’ve been waiting for. Marshall had some fun, playing with the trolls, who STILL have a hard time figuring out which Brandon Marshall is the one that is catching the ball, and which is catching running backs.
Next, KEVIN DURANT. As if watching KD pop off on Twitter trolls all summer wasn’t great enough, now we find out that KD has been one of his biggest supporters from another account. Nobody has your back like you, so I feel that Kevin. Kevin just wanted everyone to see how he really felt, and not have to hear it from an outside source. Nobody knows your truth better than you Kevin, so keep it moving trolls.
THE BAD:
Jemele Hill used Twitter this past week to voice her displeasure with our president, now to some that’s no issue, but it is if you work for a brand that would rather you not do that. So, my issue with this is simple, not that she made the comments, she’s allowed to give her opinion on her Twitter account, I do it daily. I also don’t have a problem with ESPN coming out to say that those comments don’t represent them, that’s normal, I’m good with that. My issue is that our presidential office is such a side-show that someone asked a question to our press secretary and she gave comment on it. YOU ARE THE WHITE HOUSE: WHY ARE YOU COMMENTING ON COMMENTS MADE AGAINST THE PRESIDENT? You have much bigger fish to fry, stop talking about what somebody said on Twitter.
I’m glad I got that off my chest, I’m good now
